What size skirting will this mitre box take?
Not really wide or deep enough for skirtings. It is meant for tile trims, and maybe small architraves/mouldings.
Is this suitable to use for Dado and picture rail? Also can it be 'rested' on a flat surface to use rather than screwing it to a bench etc?
Depends on the width of what you are cutting. We would always clamp it so as to leave a hand free for holding the wood. It is quite light.
Is this product made to measure?
No, the mitre block comes in one size with preformed angled slots.
